Join us for a special discussion on upcoming changes with the IPDC and CIED, including a preview of our new location in the new Blount Center, opening in Spring 2022! The EDA grant is coming to a close and the IPDC is merging with the Santa Fe College CIED, which fosters innovation and economic development by adding value and providing enrichment to individuals and organizations within our business community.

The CIED currently provides the following services:

• Community Education
• Corporate Training
• Online Education
• Computer Technology
• Nonprofit Management

About the Hosts
Bill Dorman is the Entrepreneur in Residence at the Santa Fe College Center for Innovation and Economic Development (CIED).

Through the Santa Fe College Entrepreneurship and Incubation Programs, Bill Dorman assists small businesses with strategic planning, marketing, and project execution. His work helps companies build value by aligning resources to achieve results. Bill′s personal yet professional approach yields benefits that are both immediate and sustainable.

Prior to joining Santa Fe College, Bill had independent management consulting experience as well as experience serving in the strategic planning division of FMI Corporation in Raleigh, North Carolina. At Raymond James Financial in St. Petersburg, Florida, Bill served as Vice President of Office Services and managed the firm′s national portfolio of real estate. He also served in the Corporate Marketing Department for Raymond James Financial to help develop the firm′s corporate marketing plan.

Bill holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Major in Finance and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management, both from the University of Florida.

Laurence Andrews is the Business Manager at the Santa Fe College Center for Innovation and Economic Development.

Laurence is currently serving as the Business Manager for Santa Fe College’s Center for Innovation and Economic Development. His responsibilities include coordinating purchasing, inventory, contract, and record management for the CIED and its departments as well as managing the monthly workshop series for local entrepreneurs and incubating companies. Prior to this he was the Program Coordinator for the Bradford County Incubator – a collaborative training program between Santa Fe College’s Center for Innovation and Economic Development and CareerSource North Central Florida. The goal of this program was to help local entrepreneurs turn their ideas into income.

Laurence has more than 20 years of experience analyzing problems and providing strategic solutions for clients and co-workers in the public and private sectors. He spent 10 years working as a pension analyst for the New York City Employees’ Retirement System. As an independent management consultant, Laurence has advised entrepreneurs and small business owners in the US and the Caribbean.

Laurence has an MBA with a focus on Strategy Development and Entrepreneurship from Babson College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Music from Nyack College. He also holds a Certificate of Completion from the University of St. Gallen Switzerland’s International Study Program – a 10 week intensive study exchange program focusing on doing business in continental Europe.

The SF College IPDC Zoom Webinar Series offers local inventors, entrepreneurs and innovators the opportunity to connect with IPDC Partners, organizations and private sector companies who provide mentoring and learning opportunities for start-ups and their founders. These FREE events are led by subject area experts and cover topics relevant to product commercialization and growing your new business. The on-line events will be recorded and available for future viewing.
