Cathy Parkes BSN, RN, CWCN, PHN covers Nurse/Client Relationship, Therapeutic Communication. The Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing video tutorial series is intended to help RN and PN nursing students study for your nursing school exams, including the ATI, HESI and NCLEX.
In this video, Cathy shares the phases of the Nurse/Client Relationship (pre-orientation, orientation, working, termination). She also discusses the concepts of transference and countertransference. Cathy then discusses therapeutic communication techniques and non-therapeutic communication techniques. At the end, she gives you a knowledge check to make sure you understand the key concepts she presented in the video.
